Structured Touch Typing Course Curriculum (28 Lessons)

Learning to touch type is one of the highest-leverage skills you can develop. By training each finger to cover specific keys automatically, you eliminate the cognitive friction between thought and text execution. Our 26-lesson curriculum takes you step-by-step from zero experience to advanced speed and code-typing mastery.

Stage 4: Advanced Symbols & Code Syntax

Develop speed on developer symbols: brackets { } [ ] ( ), quotes, semicolons, and operator combinations.

Yes. All 28 structured lessons on Cheetah Typing are 100% free with no paywalls, subscriptions, or account requirements.

What order should I take the lessons in?

We recommend progressing sequentially through the curriculum starting with Lesson 1 (Home Row F and J keys). Each lesson builds on muscle memory established in previous exercises.

How long does it take to complete the touch typing course?

With 15 minutes of daily practice, most learners complete the basic and intermediate modules in 2–3 weeks, achieving a touch typing speed of 40–50 WPM.

How do the visual finger guides help?

Our interactive lessons feature an animated keyboard and hand overlay guide that shows exactly which finger should strike each character. This prevents bad habits like using the index finger for every key reach.

Do I need a special keyboard to learn touch typing?

No special hardware is required. Any standard computer keyboard or laptop keyboard works perfectly for touch typing practice.
